What is Rolfing?
Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of hands-on manipulation and movement education developed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf over 50 years ago.
It works on the web-like network of connective tissues, called fascia, to release, realign and balance the whole body, potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain. Rolfing aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body.
For me, the potential for Rolfing to have a transformative effect on both your body and how you feel about yourself is the reason I trained to be a Rolfer. I work with clients who come to me with a wide range of reasons for trying Rolfing, and all have told me that they have had a positive experience through the sessions.
“I learnt so much about myself throughout the Rolfing process with Aidan. In each session I became increasingly more aware of myself, both physically and also in relation to the outside world and other people. I looked forward to each and every session, which made such a difference to my physical and psychological wellbeing. I am really looking forward to follow-up sessions with Aidan, and continue to develop, explore and learn.”
Rebecca Stancliffe, Dance Tutor, Trinity Laban
I am a certified Rolfer based in London and I came to Rolfing through a life-time passion for dance and movement.
As a dancer, choreographer and movement teacher I have always been highly aware of the body and its potential, and how injuries, poor posture and lack of confidence can hold us back.
With Rolfing I often work on specific concerns with clients but the feedback I get about their experience is that Rolfing gives them so much more than that, and I love to hear the unexpected benefits they gain, from increased self-confidence to a more positive sense of place in the world.
